It's a secret

We all have secrets. There are many reasons for keeping them, but they're not always definable or absolute. Sometimes a secret is kept because we feel ashamed. Sometimes a secret is kept because we're afraid to cause others shame. The line between the two often gets blurred as time passes and the secret is allowed to grow inside. The secret becomes the reason for never feeling fully connected. The secrets we keep to protect ourselves or others from shame cause a slow death. In the end we cannot remember who we really protect or why. Shame has spoken. The secret is kept.
